“Thank you once again for an absolutely fantastic tour. Other than losing at Barbados (but it was a great test) the tour was perfect! There are so many aspects that were first class. Ian was very helpful as our Tour Manager and always had time for all the guests staying at Sandals, despite having to deal with all the stresses associated with a Caribbean test series. What is also particularly impressive is the work of a number of the team, who were not directly responsible for us: Carl in coordinating the pre-travel arrangements; Katy taking the time out on the first night to ensure Graham had safely arrived, when he was the only traveller on the flight from Miami; Linda taking the trouble on the first day of the Grenada test to introduce herself after all of our previous email interchanges; Stephen’s friendly disposition following on from being our tour manager in Melbourne; Maggie’s helpful sourcing of a pub for Graham near the ground showing the football in Barbados; Des’s cheerful day-to-day interactions. And we were sorry not to see Steve again, who was left manning operations at HQ on this tour. This personal and attentive attention to detail is a key differentiating feature of Howzat Travel’s service. All the arrangements relating to flights, transfers, hotels and tickets were ‘spot on’ and very efficiently executed. And yet again, the end of tour dinners, which are not advertised in advance, are a lovely extra. Graeme Swann, effectively supported by Mike Selvey, was superb in Grenada. Then the Barbados evening with Sir Garfield Sobers, Gordon Greenidge and Jonathan Agnew was amazing and will take some beating! In conclusion, we loved all of our three weeks on tour and it will be a time that we will always fondly remember. Thank you for all your hard work that brought this to fruition. The organisation was first class, the hotel and resort were beautiful and there was a generally friendly and inclusive atmosphere to the whole holiday. “We were all very impressed by the efficiency and organisation of Howzat Travel and we all had a great time. We even saw England win and not too many people can say that, especially the ones who went to Barbados only! The seats at the cricket were very good. in Antigua, they were excellent in a shaded stand with a very good view. In Grenada we were high up directly behind the bowler’s arm, so we had a great view particularly of Jimmy Anderson’s wickets on the final day of the test. Accommodation was brilliant… the Grand Pineapple in Antigua was lovely in a bit of a shabby/chic way. Our rooms were 10m from a lovely beach. The breakfasts were good as were the cocktails – especially if you asked for the bottle of rum to top up for added strength! The Radisson in Grenada was excellent also in a different way – more modern and sophisticated, and chosen by the West Indies team, TMS commentators and match umpires. A great beach, great swimming pools, great breakfast… almost a 5-star experience. Transfers were excellent and the tour managers were very good – helpful and efficient. Special thanks to Steve who was our main man throughout the tour. I would also have to say excellent value for money. The 10-day stay at the Radisson would have cost over half the total amount I would have thought if we had booked individually! We really enjoyed all aspects of the holiday. The farewell meal with speakers was a great idea and to be able to buy into the Viv Richards evening was great also. “It was well worth going and it was nice to see England win a match. We enjoyed the atmosphere in Grenada as the team were staying at the same hotel, which made it a bit special. Both the hotels in Grenada and Barbados were excellent. It all seemed to go very well and it’s difficult to see where any improvements could be made. We found all of the tour managers very helpful and informed. Our tour manager David was excellent in Barbados – so helpful in sorting out any problems we had with my wife damaging her ankle – he was a brick! He travelled with us to the hospital to sort out any potential problems we might have encountered, and altered our seating arrangements at the ground. He was very helpful in other ways too, so deserves a special mention. We would use Howzat Travel again.”
