    Arriving in New Zealand in Christchurch - clear customs and immigration, collect your bags and transfer with the group to your hotel, where you will be staying for 5 nights on a B&B basis.

    Day at Leisure

    A day at leisure to enjoy in Christchurch. The Botanical Gardens in Hagley Park are a great way to experience some of the local flora, or the gondola offers breathtaking views of Christchurch and beyond.

    The Riverside Market in the CBD is also a popular choice, offering plenty of food vendors, unique arts and crafts, and local produce.

    After breakfast, make your own way to the Hagley Oval for the second game of the series! It's approximately a 25-minute walk to the stadium from our hotel.

    Christchurch to Auckland

    It's time to say goodbye to the South Island today as we head to the airport for a flight to Auckland on the North Island. On arrival in Auckland, we will transfer to the hotel for a 3-night stay. 

    Auckland is New Zealand’s most populous city and is a multi-cultural hub of food, music, arts and culture. Also known as Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland sprawls over volcanic hills and around twin harbours, offering an exhilarating mix of natural wonders and urban adventures.

    Day at Leisure

    Time to explore Auckland.

    Perhaps enjoy the spectacular views and explore the beaches on Waiheke Island, also known as 'the island of wine.' It's a 40-minute ferry journey from Auckland. 

    Stretching your legs at the popular Auckland Domain is a nice way to spend some time. This is the city's oldest park and is built around an extinct volcano.

    Auckland to Tauranga

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel, and join our transfer to Tauranga. The journey will take approximately three hours.

    Often referred to as the Mount by locals, Mt Maunganui is renowned as one of New Zealand’s top beach resorts and ranks among the top 25 best beaches in the world. Perhaps most iconic is Mount Maunganui, Mauao, which rises 232 meters from the sea. The walking tracks to the top of this extinct volcano provide 360-degree views which span the entire length of the Bay of Plenty.

    Day at Leisure

    Enjoy a day at leisure in Tauranga. 

    We highly recommend making the effort to hike Mount Maunganui for the stunning panoramic views! If you're looking for a more leisurely day, exploring The Strand Waterfront near our hotel is a good plan of action. There are lots of cafes and restaurants there, with a vibrant atmosphere.

    1st ODI

    After breakfast, reconvene with the rest of the group and join the transfer to the Bay Oval for the 1st ODI of the series. The Bay Oval is one of our favourite cricket grounds!

    After the game, the coach will take us back to our hotel in Tauranga.

    Mount Maunganui to Rotorua

    Check out of your hotel in Tauranga this morning and transfer with the group past Lake Rotoiti to Rotorua, where you will be able to check in to your hotel. With a unique thermal and volcanic landscape, living Maori culture, natural hot springs and bubbling mud pools, Rotorua is one of New Zealand’s best-known and most popular destinations. 

    This afternoon, you will then have the opportunity to visit Te Puia and the New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Centre for a guided tour, introducing you to the magnificent geothermal activity in the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. This will be followed by an evening Maori dinner experience.

The Hagley Oval in Christchurch has hosted cricket matches since as far back as 1867, but has been redeveloped since the earthquake in the city in 2011. Both Kane Williamson and Tom Latham have Test Match double centuries on this pitch - England's bowlers will have to be on top of their game here.

A standard general admission ticket is included in your package. Exact seating location is still to be confirmed. Deck chairs will be provided for the grassbanks.

2nd Test Match - Wellington, Basin Reserve

One of the most popular cricket grounds in the world, and is labelled as a Historic Area in New Zealand. Turned from a swamp into a cricket ground in 1857, it's the oldest Test cricket stadium in New Zealand, and is also the location where now England coach Brendon McCullum scored his famous 302 in 2014. The New Zealand Cricket Museum is also housed on-site, displaying cricket memorabilia and a reference library.

A standard general admission ticket is included in your package. General admission tickets will be provided with a deckchair for the grassbanks. Exact seating location is still to be confirmed. You have the option to upgrade to a Category B ticket (Old Museum Stand) for +£25pp, or a Category A ticket (R.A. Vance Stand) for +£45pp. Category B & A tickets still allow you access to the grassbanks.

The fourth-largest cricket ground in New Zealand, Seddon Park is widely renowned for it's 'village green' feel. The pitch is generally good for batting, as proved by New Zealand's 715/6d here in 2019, against Bangladesh. Another venue where Kane Williamson boasts a double hundred!
