Full itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrive QUEENSTOWN

Make your own way to Queenstown where you will be staying for four nights on a B&B basis.

Queenstown is one of the most popular destinations in New Zealand. Built on Lake Wakatipu, the longest lake in NZ, its natural beauty and infrastructure makes it a popular backdrop for many movie sets!

Queenstown is best explored on foot, therefore, after a long journey stretching your legs around the Lakefront or Queenstown Gardens is a nice way to spend some time.

  • Day 2

    Day at Leisure

This morning, a sightseeing tour of the city is included. Highlights will include a visit to Arrowtown, a quaint village set on the banks of the Arrow River, which was once a rip-roaring gold rush town.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Queenstown - lending itself perfectly to catching up on some well-earned rest! Why not check out the city from above? The Gondola is the best way to see the famous view of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables, scaling 450 meters to the top of Bobs Peak where you can relax and take in the view from multiple angles.

    Welcome Drinks

In the evening, you are invited to join your Tour Manager and the rest of your group for welcome drinks. This will also be an ideal chance for you to meet your fellow Howzat Travellers.

  • Day 3

    Day at Leisure

Enjoy a relaxing day in Queenstown.

Although famous for it's adrenaline fuelled activities, Queenstown also boasts a bustling food and wine scene - Pinot Noir is the award-winning and iconic grape of this region. There are also plenty of walking trails around the city which offer stunning views, and Onsen Hot Pools, overlooking the Shotover River, is always a popular retreat to relax.

  • Day 4

    Sightseeing Excursion - Milford Sound

Board the coach early this morning for a trip to the famous Milford Sound, included in your package. The views will make this long day worth it, there is plenty to see, and it was a favourite on Howzat's last tour to the South Island! We will make stops for coffee and photo's along the way, and lunch is included. Once we get to Milford Sound we will take a cruise on the water along the fiord and admire the  waterfalls and wildlife. Milford Sound has some of the world's freshest water and is a bucket list destination for many.

  • Day 5

Today we depart Queenstown to join the other Howzat travellers in Christchurch ahead of the first Test Match.

England have only played a Test match here once before, so this will be a new pitch for much of the squad. That game ended in a draw - it would be fair to say that under Ben Stokes's stewardship, a result will be much more likely this time around!
